Not everyone who ends up in jail holds a grudge against the police.

The Westshore RCMP shared an actual thank you card from someone who “stayed” with them.

The sender noted that they were “nervous” about their trip to the Island, but said they were surprised how helpful and kind everyone was.

“Especially the four jailors who do a tough job and are often under-appreciated by the people in their care,” reads the card. “You make a difference.”

“Thank you for your care and kindness while I was in your custody.”

The sender also included a rating — a solid 4 ½ stars.

“[We] don’t often get thank you cards from people who ‘stay’ with us, but this was sure nice to see. 4.5 star rating to boot!” the RCMP detachment said.
